Open the purse
OPEN. A local candidate who has learned about the Duterte-Trillanes row in bank deposits worth millions allegedly owned by the frontrunner of the May 9 presidential election said that he will be supportive of a law that would require all candidates, local and national, to open their book of accounts in banks and other financial institutions.
WAIVER. This candidate said: "If we want to serve the people through elections, why not sign a waiver against the Bank Secrecy Law and open our purses to the people for them to see how rich or poor we are?"
LOCAL. "In fact, I am also open with the idea that campaign contributors and donors of local candidates should also be made public so that it will become a factor the people will consider in choosing their candidates," this politician told The Ear.
