MANILA, Philippines — Filipino families were up for an exciting treat as they entered a world of Chevrolet at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Atrium in Pasay City this June.

Called the Chevy Central, the indoor roadshow was mounted by SM Supermalls in lieu of its “Home of Global Brands” campaign. Chevrolet, as a leading global car manufacturer built on a rich heritage, was the perfect partner. 

“Today, we witness another milestone in bringing fun and global experiences to our customers at SM Malls across the country. Chevrolet is recognized as one of the world’s largest car brands and sells more than 4 million cars and trucks. For over a century, Chevrolet continues to be a trailblazer in the automotive industry, committed to providing fuel-efficient vehicles that celebrate value, performance, style, safety and fun,” said Joaquin San Agustin, senior vice president for marketing of SM Supermalls, at Chevrolet Central’s launch held on June 16.

In turn, Chevrolet in the Philippines has put forth only the best of the best.

“Chevy Central is a series of car displays that illustrates our 106 years of automotive heritage globally. So alongside our new cars, the Chevrolet Trailblazer, the Colorado, the Spark, the Sail and the Trax, there will be our iconic cars like the Corvette and the Camaro,” Lyn Buena, senior vice president and director of marketing and customer services of Chevrolet, told Philstar.com in an interview.

The car company from Detroit, USA also offered fun activities including a “caraoke,” which allowed guests to sing their heart out inside the Chevrolet Sail.

“The built-in karaoke is perfect when you’re stuck in traffic. You can just sing your heart away and forget your traffic woes,” said Buena.

Inside the Chevrolet Spark, tech- and car-lovers enjoyed a virtual test drive.

Besides the compact cars, the company’s SUVs were also highlighted at the Chevrolet Connection Center. According to Bueno, it imparted to guests the advantages, features and off-road capabilities of the Colorado and the Trailblazer—in the comforts of SM MOA Atrium.

The Chevy Central was also held in time for Father’s Day, and as such, dads who made new car purchases on their special day were given gifts like mountain bikes and travel certificates! 

 

After its kick-off at SM MOA, the Chevrolet Central is set to tour 20 SM malls across the country from June to July.

This series of road shows with Chevrolet is the continuation of SM Supermalls’ 2017 campaign that aims to showcase the shopping centers as the “Home of Global Brands.” It kicked off in May and continues until December.

“SM Supermalls is also a trailblazer in the shopping industry for pioneering ultimate, family experiences in 60 malls nationwide as it partners with the world’s top brands in making the mall-going unforgettable and extraordinary,” San Agustin, the marketing official at SM, said.

Buena of Chevrolet, meanwhile, is flattered to be part of SM Supermall’s newest campaign.

“It’s an exclusive list and we appreciate the opportunity to be present in SM Malls because it is proven to be a great venue for Chevrolet cars to be showcased,” she said.
