Globe MyBusiness exclusively carries the new Huawei P10 as part of its ThePlan 1799. Perfect for entrepreneurs wanting to showcase their food products through its advanced Leica Dual-Camera 2.0 system.

To some, it’s just one mega food party where they can sample street-food items from all over the globe. For hawkers, it’s the perfect venue to peddle their heritage and often ingenious recipes for the world to try. For food entrepreneurs, it’s an opportunity to immerse themselves in a cultural melting pot and learn the mechanics behind the food industry.

Ongoing until June 4, the World Street Food Congress (WFSC) 2017 features up to 30 food stalls, plus pop-up booths to quell one’s hunger and desires. But WSFC is not just about comfort food and deliciousness. It’s also about empowering budding food entrepreneurs — yes, even hawkers — to grow their business and succeed.

The WSFC has three segments: The World Street Food Dialogue, where entrepreneurs can learn about the best practices in the food industry from seasoned chefs and industry experts; the WSF Jamboree, the five-day street-food festival; and WSF Awards, where the best street-food vendors will be recognized.

Globe Telecom, through its small- and medium-enterprise (SME) arm Globe MyBusiness, supports this year’s WFSC through the Globe MyBusiness Academy, where it will present a talk on food concept trends and customer loyalty, and a food photography workshop tomorrow, June 2, at the Conrad Hotel. Registration opens at 8 a.m.

“Globe MyBusiness is all about spotlighting technological innovations, especially when it is geared to contribute to the success of Filipino entrepreneurs,” enthuses Derrick Heng, senior advisor for Globe MyBusiness, during the press launch of WFSC 2017 held at Lorenzo’s Way in BGC. “This edition of the Globe MyBusiness Academy will give them an experience that we hope will help them improve their business materials through food styling and food photography on social media.”

Globe MyBusiness Academy features Chef and Pinoy Eats World founder JJ Yulo, Yummy.PH managing editor Trixie Zabal-Mendoza, food stylist Idge Mendiola, and Pat Mallari of Unilever.

“Chef JJ Yulo will talk about the food concepts and trends and how to apply them to your own business, while Trixie and Idge will discuss the importance of food styling and photography,” explains Raisa Ver, digital marketing manager, Globe MyBusiness.

During the event, Globe MyBusiness will also feature innovations tailor-made for business owners, including the newest digital app Rush, and the Globe MyBusiness ThePlan bundled with the latest Huawei P10 device.

“Through Rush, business owners can build a custom-branded loyalty app to keep customers coming back,” says Debbie Obias, VP for segment marketing, Globe MyBusiness.

For P1,299 a month, customers can create their success by providing a digital punch card that rewards customers for every visit or purchase. The app is quick, easy to set up and highly customizable.

“Pat Mallari of Unilever Food Solutions, one of the first Globe partners to use Rush, will share her experience and learning using the app and talk about customer loyalty during the dialogue,” adds Ver.

For the first time, Globe MyBusiness will exclusively carry a Huawei flagship device, the new Huawei P10, as part of Globe MyBusiness ThePlan 1799.

“We eat with our eyes first,” says Obias. “Beautiful images of food tickle our palate. Huawei P10 boasts its advanced Leica Dual-Camera 1.0 system so the device is perfect for entrepreneurs wanting to showcase their food products.”

ThePlan 1799 has everything you need to run your business smoothly. It comes with 8 GB data, free access to Viber, unlimited calls to Globe and TM customers, unlimited texts to all networks and a Duo landline number.

Globe creates possibilities: Globe external affairs expert Steeps Martinez with Globe corporate communications group external affairs manager Krisca Tadena, Globe MyBusiness VP for segment marketing Debbie Obias, senior advisor Derrick Heng, marketing services director Gaile Guevara, digital marketing manager Raisa Ver and Globe Communications Group PR and media relations manager Jen Fidel during the launch of the World Street Food Congress 2017 at Lorenzo’s Way, BGC.

Globe is, indeed, about creating possibilities.

“Street food is about inclusivity and we want to make sure everyone learns the trends, the opportunities and the future of this street-food culture,” adds Heng.
