Festive food and rocking beats at Robinsons Malls Soundbites Food and Music Festival

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Summer season is in full swing across the country and with it comes the heat that stays even after sundown. Frankly, there is no better way to cool down and chill than to indulge in food and music, with the company of friends, family and loved ones.

Gathering an impressive lineup of today’s best and hottest Original Pinoy Music (OPM) acts, the OPM Jam: Soundbites Food and Music Festival is back to present a wonderful combination of festive food and rocking beats in a series of live concerts, right at the comfort of the Robinsons Mall near you.

Callalily and Silent Sanctuary at Robinsons Place Manila

In the coming weekend, prepare to indulge in more great food and music pairings as “Rockestra”-inspired band Silent Sanctuary and modern rock idol Callalily perform at Robinsons Place Manila on May 6 and 7, respectively.

Silent Sanctuary, whose members describe its genre a fusion of pop rock and classical feel, mixes classical instruments with traditional guitars and drums as a way to make a unique sound. After 15 years and five records, the group remains strong with the music video for the single Di Na Kita Mahal from the album Langit at Luha. As master of its own rhythms, the band experiments with different-sounding tunes to create a fusion of melodies that somehow sync perfectly.

Callalily describes its entry into the modern pop rock scene. “We were a bunch of 17 year-old kids who really just wanted to have some fun playing music. We started fronting for some major bands, got a following, signed a recording deal before finally releasing an album.” Their latest album Greetings from Callalily features new songs like the trippy I’m Coming Home, the feel-good song Nasaan Ka and the emotionally heavy SMB.

“Rockestra”-inspired band Silent Sanctuary experiments in its music by mixing in classical instruments to make a unique sound. Catch them live tomorrow at Robinsons Place Manila.
