Bench pays homage to denim

MANILA, Philippines — Bench was the show opener to the Red Charity Gala , presenting a mix of casual and couture, all done in denim.

Stylist Noel Manapat explains: “The Bench presentation was an homage to the classic denim. We worked with a variety of Bench everyday pieces--trucker jackets, baseball shirts, selvedge jeans, even chambray and denim printed underwear and combined them with special pieces by Joey Samson who we have collaborated with on many pieces.”

The denim pieces by Samson involved a lot of denim manipulation — handpleating, adding hardware, floral crafting, Manapat adds.

Doing its staple — denim — was a perfect way to celebrate Bench’s 30th year on the ramp. - MMM
