Cole Haan Grand Evolution Chukka
MANILA, Philippines — Here’s an unlikely but welcome remix: Cole Haan and New York City Ballet. In this mashup of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetic called “Extraordinary Comes to Life,” style meets functionality so extreme, ballerinas approve of it. The Cole Haan campaign, which highlights movement, features dancers from New York City Ballet including resident choreographer and soloist Justin Peck.
Images from the campaign show Peck, flanked by corps de ballet member Gretchen Smith and principal dancers Amar Ramasar, Megan Fairchild and Sara Mearns, leaping and bounding while wearing Cole Haan’s GrandRevolution, GrandMotion and StudioGrand collections and the next generation StudioGrand lineup.
“These extraordinary dancers are all about grit, grace and the unity of athleticism and elegance — qualities anyone can aspire to. We built these collections with our proprietary Grand.OS technology to move our customers throughout a packed day on their feet, in the world, and on the job,” says David Maddocks, Cole Haan chief marketing officer.
The GrandRevolution collection includes reimagined dress shoes for men and women made of lightweight materials, with laser-cut perforations for breathability.GrandMotion is a men’s collection that includes sneakers and other casual footwear that can be worn from gym to studio to work. The StudioGrand collection for women was designed in collaboration with three dancers from the New York City Ballet, including principal designer Sara Mearns.
The new collections debut at Cole Haan’s stores this month, including its newest boutique at Ayala Malls The 30th. The 107-square-meter store follows the brand design of boutiques in the US, and incorporates a neutral palette and modern elements. More stores will be renovated soon, and a total of nine new stores will open by the end of 2017.
