Jeunesse Anion, the feminine pads of the future

Dear Lucy,

If I were to update my wardrobe, what should I get? I realize also that I keep buying clothes, most of which I do not wear. I don’t know why.

How do I curb the compulsion to buy? I buy so dressing up becomes easy. But now, I have closets filled with stuff that I don’t always wear or have never worn, and it still takes me forever to dress up. What gives?!

Mina

Buy more dresses. I have always loved the ease of dresses and I like how they save time because you need not figure out which top goes with what bottom. Embrace the charm of dresses in fluid cuts and beautiful prints. Dresses in georgette/viscose have this languid and very feminine appeal that always works like a charm.

Regarding all the clothing you have acquired but have never worn, be merciless in editing your choices. Pass on anything that does nothing to make you feel good or look beautiful, or both. Buy (and keep!) only those that work for you. No ifs and buts. Can be difficult at first, but it is so liberating, and simplifies many things. Try it.

Loving anti bacterial!

Dear Rissa,

Every time I get my period, it seems to have a funky odor down there. I’m thinking it’s because the sanitary pad I use has its own scent, which I dislike because it’s too “perfumey.” Any recos?

Erica

When you get your monthly visitor, humidity and moisture are at increasing levels down there. Always keep in mind that moisture is a breeding ground for bacteria, which can cause odors, as well as infection. I was so astounded to come across a sanitary pad that actually had a special anion chip! A friend told me about Jeunesse Anion Sanitary Napkins and it sounded so high tech. Negative ions (or anions) have been popular the past few years. You hear of them in air conditioners and other home appliances because negative ions have anti-bacterial properties and capable of protecting against germs in the air.  Jeunesse Anion Sanitary Napkins feature a special anion chip which releases negative ions upon getting in contact with moisture. The advantage of the special anion chip is it helps prevent bacteria during menstruation and helps eliminate unwanted odors too.

I got so curious that I tried it and it’s actually comparable to my favorite sanitary napkin brand. It absorbs fluids really well — I’ve never gotten a leak or stain, even with the super slim design. The brand offers panty liners, day-and-night sanitary napkins, and even winged napkins. I especially appreciate the main packaging, which is made of aluminum foil and is resealable. No more messy plastic packaging prone to tearing and contamination. The packaging doesn’t scream “sanitary napkin,” too. The design makes it feel like a sleek modern pack of tissue or makeup wipes. It’s really worth trying because their innovations are a step up from the other sanitary pads.
