MANILA, Philippines - To be comfortable in your own skin is the beginning of being confident. But in a world where one's concept of beauty is always judged by eyes in the society, how can you overcome your skin insecurity?

On July 12, Solenn Heussaff conducted her own makeup workshop at the Greensun Hotel. During the event, the multi hyphenate personality emphasized how one should love their own skin color.

"We see that most of the girls who have endorsements are whiter. But like I said, it's a different conception in all parts of the world,"  the "A1 Ko Sa'Yo" star said.

"When you go to Europe or (the) States, people are going to tan salons everyday because they want to look darker. While when you are in tropical countries like in the Philippines everyone wants to look white. But you have to understand that everyone is beautiful in their own skin," she added.

So many women struggle with feeling comfortable in their own skin. So much so that it almost felt like dressing up everyday is a competition. But you do not need to compete with anyone.

"The key to loving your own skin is not to compare. That's what I have learned. Just be at ease with yourself and everything after that will flow so easily," Solenn shared.

Being surrounded with a lot of beautiful women never made Solenn underestimate her own beauty As she mentioned, as you engage in the practice of appreciating yourself more, you will begin to feel greater ease in connecting with yourself.

So when you start feeling unsure of yourself remember: Silence the thoughts that belittle you, we are all created equally beautiful.
