Zippy brings fashion to your mini-me’s

MANILA, Philippines – Instagram moms are next-level stylists — not only do they have to dress themselves, they also  have tiny humans to attend to. That these tiny humans are already pretty adorable only adds to the fun of putting together their outfits for the day. Zippy, a kids’ fashion brand from Portugal, makes this daily creative task so much easier, with fashionable items for kids from zero to 14. They call themselves “kids specialists,” and they proved they mean business at their recent store launch in Glorietta, setting up a kids’ dream buffet of activities, toys and sweets. Obee Ham, head of business development of Trimark, the exclusive distributor of Zippy in the Philippines, says, “When we stumbled upon this brand, we saw a big opportunity because there aren’t a lot of kids’ brands on the market. And it’s very fashionable and very affordable. Everything for kids, you can get it from Zippy.” Clothes range from P179 (for basic pieces) and up. Average price point is P700 — a steal for Instamoms who like to style their kids a la Harper Beckham or Suri Cruise.

The Zippy spring/summer collection 2016 brought a touch of vintage and nature as inspiration. For juniors (ages three to 14), Zippy has the laidback Super Soda line, which draws from vintage and surfer looks. As summer approaches, the collection gives way to the Retro Twist line, which takes styles back to the ‘70s with clothes marked by powdery and aged blues, combined with other upbeat and bright colors, and fabrics that almost look handmade.

The Baby collection (up to three years old) offers different themes for boys and girls. For active baby boys, the season kicks off with Electric Avenue, a comfortable collection in themes of yellow, blue, orange and red. Eco Rad is a fusion of modern and eco-friendly vintage references for outgoing babies. Beach Time is a safari-seaside line with a fresh palette and cool prints for tiny explorers.

For girls, there’s Noe, inspired by the vintage Nordic look, with romantic print and floral embroidery. The line has a precious collection of knitwear and poplin blouses.

For newborns, the beginning of the season is defined by Zippy’s nostalgic Retro Soft line, with pastel colors (blue, green and yellow), embroidery, and handmade pieces with a touch of vintage. It also includes the Royal Blue denim line. The Retro Summer collection has the same inspirations, making the most out of bright colours, like mint green, pink, peach and coral, to create a happier mix of colors, polka dots and raindrops.
