MANILA, Philippines- Set to deliver the hottest, biggest news even before midday followed right after by on-the-spot public service assistance to viewers, award-winning noontime newscast Balitanghali and public service program On Call will air on back-to-back timeslots beginning today on GMA News TV.

Balitanghali brings the latest scoop-of-the-day and updates on the morning headlines beginning 11.30 a.m. while On Call’s public service assistance starts at 1 p.m.

Since its launch in 2005, Balitanghali has successfully created a newscast viewing habit during midday amidst competition from variety programs shown on other TV stations.

On Call, in turn, moves to an earlier airing time, 1 p.m., from its previous 4 p.m. timeslot. Anchored by Connie Sison and Ivan Mayrina, together with segment host Valerie Tan, On Call focuses on providing immediate assistance to Filipinos.

The show airs grievances and helps in solving them through agencies or persons in authority. On Call also helps in addressing women’s and children’s concerns, report irregularities caught on cam and reunite people who lost contact of each other.

On Call also provides a public service caravan, which offers free services to government offices like National Statistics Office (NSO), Philhealth and the likes. The program will hold livelihood seminars and other public service activities that aim to help more Filipinos.
