Claudine Barretto slams ‘fake news’ about ex-boyfriend Mark Anthony Fernandez

MANILA, Philippines — Actress Claudine Barretto slammed a circulating video, which claimed that she has confirmed in an interview that her ex-boyfriend, actor Mark Anthony Fernandez, impregnated two policewomen while he was in jail.

In an Instagram post on January 10, Claudine called the trending video “fake news.”

“Ayoko na san[a] patulan 'tong malisyosong tsimis na ito,pero nainterview daw ako ni TITO MARYO DUMAWAL.FAKE NEWS PO ITO!! NEVER SPOKE TO TITO MARYO FOR YEARS. #notofakenews,” Claudine’s post read.

In the video, Claudine was allegedly interviewed by ABS-CBN reporter Mario Dumaual. The actress allegedly told the reporter about Mark Anthony's romances while in prison. 

“Minsan nagbiro pa nga, nagkameron daw siya ng girlfriend sa loob. Sabi ko nga imposible naman yata at wala naman akong nakitang babaeng nakakulong dun. Ang sabi niya pulis daw pero hindi ko masyado binigyang pansin dahil akala ko nagbibiro lang,” the video text read.

Claudine denied that she said those quoted in the video, which is now in YouTube’s top 20 videos that are trending worldwide.

According to the video, there are speculations that Mark Anthony impregnated a 24-year-old police officer from Zambales, and she is allegedly expecting for five months. Besides her, the actor also allegedly got a 27-year-old policewoman from Nueva Ecija pregnant, and she is allegedly on her fourth month now.

One of the alleged pregnant women is said to be among the cops on a photo taken with Mark Anthony after he was apprehended. In October 2016, the police found a kilo of marijuana in Mark Anthony's vehicle at a checkpoint in Barangay Virgen delos Remedios, Angeles City, Pampanga.

Last December 22, the actor was freed “due to procedural breaches committed by Angeles cops in handling the evidence against Fernandez.”

There are speculations that those “procedural breaches” include two female cops taking photos with the actor after he was arrested. The cops were then reportedly reprimanded after the act.

In a Facebook post, Claudine confirmed Mark’s release. She also posted a photo of her, together with Mark Anthony and a group of friends on January 10.
