In her welcome video courtesy of DOT, Nel-Peters said it is her first time in the Philippines.

“We’re kicking off the holiday season!” she exclaimed.

"Hi everyone! I'm so happy to be in the Philippines and I'm so excited to get to know all of you better and the Philippines better!" Nel-Peters said in another video.

Iris, who was crowned in Manila early this year, said she is so excited to be back.

On Tuesday, Miss Canada 2017 Lauren Howe, Miss Singapore 2017 Manuela Bruntraeger, Miss Great Britain Anna Burdzy and Miss Malaysia Samantha James arrived in the country on separate flights.

“I’m so excited for what’s coming. I’ve always dreamt of coming here. It’s my first time and I heard so much about it, so I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us!” said Miss Malaysia.
