MANILA, Philippines — Miss Canada 2017 Lauren Emily Howe is the first Miss Universe 2017 delegate to have arrived in the Philippines early on Tuesday to take part in a four-day tour of the Philippines as part of the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) Bring Home a Friend (BHAF) campaign that seeks to give incentives to Filipinos who will invite their foreign friends to explore the Philippines.

Hailing from Toronto, Lauren is a recent Industrial Engineering graduate who is working as a project manager, model, actress, entrepreneur and sports host. She is also a Miss Universe 2017 top 10 finalist together with Rachel Peters of the Philippines.

She will be joined by Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and select Miss Universe contestants on a four-day tour of Manila, Batanes and Camiguin.

According to the DOT, following Manila’s successful hosting of Miss Universe 2016, the Miss Universe Organization again asks the Philippines to host the pageant in 2018.
