MANILA, Philippines — Movers and shakers from the film and TV industry; the senior, youth and family sectors; the media; as well as partner government agencies and private organizations will gather at the fifth Family and Child Summit of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) on Dec. 2 at Crossroad 77 Convention Center on Scout Reyes St. in Diliman, Quezon City.

The star-studded event is MTRCB’s biggest and most important event of the year with the theme Sakay Na Pamilyang Pinoy! Biyaheng Media, Biyaheng MTRCB. Upholding and Passing on Filipino Tradition and Values in Media for Children.

MTRCB chief Ma. Rachel Arenas said the summit, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (registration starts at 8 a.m.), aims to provide participants “an avenue for collaboration to synergize towards the promotion of cherished Filipino values, customs and traditions in Media for Children.”

It will be highlighted by lectures and panel discussions by media personalities and their families, and renowned resource persons from the realm of the industry. Among them are filmmaker and professor Jose Javier Reyes, thespians Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, Lotlot de Leon, Matet de Leon, Angel Aquino, Nonie Buencamino, Niño Muhlach, Bernadette Estrada and daughter Icee Estrada, and singer Aiza Seguerra, who heads the National Youth Commission (NYC).

To provide entertainment are MTRCB board members Paolo Santos, Dennis Padilla, Luke Mejares, James “Moymoy Palaboy” Macasero and other notable performers led by songstress Jona.
