'Powerpuff Girls' introduce new member
MANILA, Philippines — Kids' channel Cartoon Network (CN) unveiled on Sunday, September 17, the new member of its hit animated trio, "The Powerpuff Girls."
Twenty-five years since Craig McCracken created the superhero TV show for CN, the channel has announced the arrival of Blisstina or Bliss, the fourth addition to the team formed by sisters Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup.
Bliss is said to be an earlier incarnation of Professor Utonium's "perfect little girl" experiment that he thought he lost forever due to an explosion.
Unlike the other members, Bliss has blue hair, a light purple dress, and is thought to be a black Powerpuff Girl, though her race was never explicitly implied in the series.

Fans have mixed reactions to her arrival. Some say Bliss is a "black history moment," while others think her creation has been inspired by rapper Nicki Minaj.
