MANILA, Philippines – Showing some love to Filipino fans, American duo The Chainsmokers reiterated that they owe a lot to them.

During their concert at the SM Mall of Asia on Wednesday night, the Grammy-nominated producers and artists composed of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall recalled how Filipino fans took part at the beginning of their career.

“To be honest, the Philippines is the very first country in Asia that ever gave a sh*t about The Chainsmokers,” Drew said as he greeted the Manila crowd.

“We get nothing but respect from you guys and we look forward to it every time we come by,” he added.

In their August 2016 concert, The Chainsmokers said Filipinos believed in them when “everyone thought they we’re a one-hit wonder."

Grateful Alex and Drew took to Twitter on Thursday to stress their love for Filipino fans.

“Manila you guys are originals! We owe you a lot! Thank you for last nights sell out show! Forever in our hearts!,” The Chainsmokers’ tweet read.

The Chainsmokers’ “Memories Asia Tour 2017” is their third performance in the Philippines. They first held a #SELFIE tour at Resorts World Manila in 2014 and also had another concert last year.

For this tour, The Chainsmokers played their hits from latest album “Memories… Do not Open” as well as their chart-topping singles in EP “Bouquet.”

The sold-out concert was brought to the country by Globe and MMI Live.
