Sexy Talk with AJ & Phoebe

“Good luck!” is all that Aga Muhlach could wish his younger brother AJ Muhlach who sheds his boy-next-door image in Viva Films’ Double Barrel (showing nationwide next Wednesday, Aug. 9), his launching vehicle as the newest action star, directed by Toto Natividad. AJ’s leading lady is Phoebe Walker who won Best Supporting Actress at the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for her performance in the horror film Seklusyon.

“It comes with age,” said AJ about his drastic change of image.

AJ plays the role of Jeff, a drug pusher who gets caught during an extensive police operation at a slum area. After begging for his life, Jeff is spared from being killed on the condition that he will become an asset to the police. He must divulge all the names of the drug lords he knows and join the authorities in extrajudicial killings (EJK).   

Phoebe plays Martha, Jeff’s wife whose love for him leaves her with no choice but to take part in the never-ending violence. Armed with a gun and shooting down drug personalities, she and her husband are tagged as “mag-asawang birador.”  

A former member of the boy group XLR8, AJ was in Diary ng Panget, Talk Back and You’re Dead, Para sa Hopeless Romantic, Chain Mail and Felix Manalo; and in the TV series P.S. I Love You and Bagets Just Got Lucky.

Aside from the Erik Matti film Seklusyon, Phoebe also starred in Unconventional and Gayuma. The half-Filipino/half-British Viva artist was part of the girl group Eurasia.

Asked how sexy are her scenes with AJ, Phoebe said, “Decent love scenes at the start, silhouette lang, and then…”

AJ said, “Very sexy and intimate.”

Before the shoot, Phoebe had to build rapport and learn how to be comfortable with AJ.

“We discussed the scene and the choreography; we set boundaries,” added Phoebe.

 “When I feel confident and beautiful. Also, when I’m wearing lingerie.”
