MANILA, Philippines — It is confirmed: YouTube sensation, actor and singer Troye Sivan is the face of SM Youth’s newest line, SMYTH.

Troye joins other millennial influencers such as Tommy Esguerra and Kaila Estrada as the ambassadors of the youth fashion line.

A few weeks ago, the South African-Australian singer behind the breakthrough single, “Youth,” was spotted around Metro Manila, and social media was in a frenzy. He offered little information about the purpose behind his short visit.

Nonetheless, he did post last June 29 on Twitter: “dipped in n out of the Philippines this week workin on fun stuff. If I've taken one thing from this trip it's that I can't WAIT to come back.” He followed this up with another Tweet: “Also I got some of the craziest news I've ever received in my life while I was here. 2017 is taking some twists n turns I'll tell ya!!!!!!”All was kept secret until recently with the premiere of his fashion video and launch of his campaign for SMYTH."

Sivan rose to fame when he was signed by EMI Australia in 2013, and released his EPs, “TRYXE” in 2014 and “Wild” in 2015. The following year, he released "Blue Neighborhood," his first studio album, which includes the hit, “Youth.” The song became Sivan’s first single to enter the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Besides being a talented singer, Sivan has appeared in numerous theater productions and film, and has gained worldwide fame as a YouTube sensation, with almost 4.5 million subscribers.
