Shamcey shares change after daughter turned 1
MANILA, Philippines - Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup is among the celebrity first time-moms.
Shamcey, a proud mom to her first born daughter Nyke, shared how taking care of her child changed after she turned one year old.
"Now it's a lot easier feeling ko ha," Shamcey said during the recent launch of L’Oreal Professionel’s Smartbond Transforms.
Shamcey shared that taking care of Nyke before was delicate as she stopped working for six months and breastfed her for eight months.
"Kaya parang na-feel ko talaga yung pagiging full-time mom but after eight months I started working. I got busy so eventually I had to stop breast feeding her," she said.
"I was still happy feeding her. [But] it was harder for me to bring my pump at tsaka talaga eventually yung supply ko din kumonti nang kumonti," the former beauty queen added.
Asked if there was a separation anxiety with Nyke when she started working, Shamcey told PhilStar.com there was none.
"I [just] feel guilty sometimes pag-iniiwan ko siya," Shamcey said.
Shamcey described her daughter as "Mommy's girl." She said it is easier to take care of Nyke now because she can now walk and point at things.
"Medyo bantay-bantay [na lang] ng konti. Friendly siya sa lahat sa bahay namin sa lola, sa strangers para siyang welcome ambassador, sabi ko nga 'ano nangyayari sa'yo? Tumatakbo ka bang kandidato?'" Shamcey shared.
"Although ayaw niya magpakarga sa iba so at least 'di siya puwede nakawin," she added.
Despite turning into a mother, Shamcey said she feels overwhelmed that she can earn endorsements and be invited in events.
Among her batchmates in Binibining Pilipinas pageant, she said she is the only mom and one of the oldest. Her daughter turned one year old last January.
