MANILA, Philippines — Knowing how influential the digital world has become, TV host Bianca Gonzalez-Intal reminded moms to be careful when it comes to soliciting advice from social media.

“Usong-uso ngayon lalo na with social media, maraming nagcocomment na, ‘Uy, ‘wag mong gawin ‘yan, ganito gawin mo.’ Now that I’ve become a mom, I learned na napaka-insensitive pala ng ganun,” she said in a recent interview with Philstar.com during the Samsung S8 launch.

“Every baby is different and every mom may kanya-kanyang style ng pagpapalaki ng anak. Walang tama, walang mali. Whatever is in your heart na para sa’yo ay tama and when you know what’s best for your child, go with that,” she urged.

This Sunday, Bianca will celebrate Mothers’ Day by eating out with her family.

“We’re really not big on celebrating our anniversary or Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day or Valentine’s. Siguro kasi, we’ve been together for a long time. So, para ‘di magastos, we don’t give gifts when there are occasions,” she shared.

She bared that like other moms, she gets emotional and touched by even a simple card.

“I appreciate that when it’s Mothers’ Day or Christmas, my husband writes me a letter. He writes me a card saying how much he appreciates what I do. Naiiyak ako, natatouch ako when I read it!”

In reality, she still feels not in a position to give advice to other moms. “Kasi every day, nalilito pa rin ako,” she confessed.

She acknowledged, though, the importance of having a support group. “Super important ng support group – may friends na may baby na rin and happy to give you an advice ‘pag times na nag-papanic ka or you’re down.”

In a recent Downy Parfum event, Bianca paid tribute to the women who inspired her from her career to family life. Among them is model and hands-on mom Mikaela Lagdameo-Martinez.

This Mothers’ day, Bianca thanks all women that made her “a decent, well-rounded human being.”
