Shape up for a sexy summer

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee - The Philippine Star

Summer has definitely arrived! It’s time to shape up and have great skin as you bare more of yourselves on the beach.

The Aivee Clinic recently launched three new cutting-edge machines — White Laser, VelaShape III and Power Shape. This trio is of advanced technology. Using all three, according to the clinic, will help you get your dream form.

For photo rejuvenation, acne and treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions on the face, The Aivee Clinic recommends the White Laser, which features optimum yellow and green light for fast, precise, targeted treatment. It reportedly provides great results with reduced skin damage and discomfort and does wonders for melasma. It is used for skin whitening needed for those with skin blemishes, redness, scars and stretch marks. The clinic says that in five to six sessions, a good improvement is seen. A session of this noninvasive light-based treatment is quick (15 to 20 minutes) and taken on a two-week interval.

On the other hand, the VelaShape III technology is a combination of infrared light, coupled radio frequency energy and vacuum that causes deep heating of the fat cells, their surrounding connective tissue and the underlying dermal collagen fibers. The clinic says this machine helps in contouring, shaping and slimming the body by improving cellulite and reducing circumference. And with just one treatment, according to the experts from The Aivee Clinic, instant and significant results can be had. They add that it may take between five and 10 sessions to achieve its maximum effect depending on the condition of the area. The procedure lasts only about 15 minutes plus prep time.

Last but not the least, The Aivee Clinic also introduces the Power Shape, which is described as a cutting-edge machine that uses pulsed, focused ultrasound for fat cell destruction. The machine is said to be the first and only FDA-cleared and CE-approved for non-surgical procedure. It reportedly destroys fat cells without harming surrounding skin, nerves or blood vessels because it delivers ultrasound energy directly into the stubborn fat below your skin’s surface. The clinic adds that treatments are virtually painless and leave you free of any unwanted visible side effects. Three sessions (each less than an hour) are recommended for an excellent effect.

For best results, consult your doctor.

‘Wandering’ in Filinvest City

Festivalgoers found themselves heading to the south of Manila for the 2017 Wanderland Music and Arts Festival hosted by Filinvest City.

This year’s Wanderland was held at the three-hectare Filinvest City Event Grounds in Alabang to accommodate its three stages — the Wanderland stage, Globe stage and Jungle stage. “Wanderers” enjoyed incredible performances from the festival’s full lineup of international and homegrown artists.

Taking the Wanderland stage were The Temper Trap, The Ting Tings, Explosions in the Sky, Yuna, Purity Ring, Honne, LANY, Woodlock and Up Dharma Down. Firing up the Jungle and Globe stages were the performances of Gab and John of Urbandub, Tom’s Story, Fools & Foes, Reese Lansangan, Lola Amour, Banna Harbera and Mickey Sulit.

Wanderland is never without its art installations. The jungle-themed festival gave off a colorful vibe as it showcased live art performances from talented muralists and illustrators like Jappy Agoncillo, KFK Collective, Quatro Hapimeel and Ysabella Lalu.

A selection of food stalls allowed Wanderers to stay full and hydrated as they participated in different activities like bungee jumping and wall climbing.
