MANILA, Philippines - Binati kahapon ng Malacanang ang nanalong Miss Universe na si Iris Mittenaere ng France sa ginanap na Miss U coronation sa Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.

“Congratulations to the new Miss universe, Iris Mittenaera of France. People of France is rejoicing. Truly, this is a proud moment for their country. Iris brought tremendous joy to her people representing France well on the international stage with her winning grace, regal bearing and inspiring answer,” wika pa ni Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella sa isang statement.

“She has won not only the nod of the judges but the affection of the entire world as well. We likewise congratulate Maria Mika Maxine Medina for making it to the Top 6. She represented the Philippines well in the international scene. Our best wishes to the 65th Miss Universe,”dagdag pa ni Usec. Abella sa statement nito.

Tinanghal na 1st runner up si Racquel Pellisier ng Haiti at 2nd runner up naman si Andrea Tovar ng Colombia sa 65th Miss Universe na ginanap sa MOA Arena, Pasay City.

Hindi naman nakadalo si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Miss U coronation day habang ilang miyembro ng gabinete nito ang nanood.

Nagpasalamat naman si Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart sa mga Filipino at sa bansang Pilipinas dahil sa matagumpay na pagdaraos ng 65th Miss Universe pageant.

“This is the best show I’ve ever done,” wika pa ni Ms. Shugart, president ng Miss Universe organization.
