Jessy Mendiola bags award in Korea, mingles with Korean stars

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Jessy Mendiola has won an award in APAN (Asia Pacific Actors Network) Star Awards 2016 in South Korea.

Jessy was recognized as Best Asia Pacific Star. In her acceptance speech, Jessy expressed gratitude to Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, one of the leading South Korean television and radio networks as well as APAN awards for the recognition.

"I am so happy to be standing here tonight in front of all of you, and I am greatly honored to be the Filipino recipient of Best Asia Pacific Star Award. Tonight is a celebration of promoting culture exchange and opening up of new opportunities in Asia. I am extremely proud to be part of this prestigious ceremony," Jessy said in her speech where she also thanked her Filipino fans.

Jessy also took to Twitter her thoughts regarding her award. She said it was her childhood dream to receive an award.

 

Thank you MBC and to the great people of APAN Star Awards for giving me this recognition. I used to dream about getting an award when I was a little girl. Who would've thought that I would receive one from an international prestigious award- giving body. It's such an honor to represent the Philippines. I still can't believe it. Haaay, God. While attending the awards night, Jessy also got the chance to mingle with Korean actors and actresses, namely “Descendants of the Sun” lead actor Soong Joong-Ki, Choi Jin-Woong, Shin Dong-yup, Chae Jung-an and Honey Lee. She was able to take a photo with Soong Joong-Ki and got her hand print cemented alongside “Descendants of the Sun” and “Doctors” star, Kim Min-seok.
