Jeremy, Gwen wed in March 2017

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – “It’s about time. I’m not getting any younger.”

That’s what former Parañaque City Councilor Jeremy Marquez told The STAR as, at 36, he decided to end his single-blessedness by exchanging till-death-do-us-part vows with girlfriend Gwen Zamora at a church in Panglao, Bohol, in March next year.

Jeremy will turn 37 in Oct. 10 while Gwen just turned 26 last Aug. 10.

The sweethearts have been going steady for 18 months now. They mark their “monthsary” every fourth of the month, and they will probably schedule their wedding on March 4.

“We are still finalizing plans,” said Jeremy, one of the many children of former Parañaque City Mayor Joey Marquez.

The sweethearts want a “rustic look” to their wedding and after an extensive research, they found a church in Panglao to be the perfect setting.

“Just right for our concept,” explained Jeremy.

Saying he and Gwen have many things in common, Jeremy said that it’s the right time to settle down because, “in love talaga ako, eh. It’s the right time.”

Gwen’s mom is half-Vietnamese/half-Filipino and her dad is a French chef that travels around the world, that’s why Gwen has spent parts of her life in France, China and Thailand where her dad has been based — until she decided to stay put in the Philippines to pursue a showbiz career.

Would he let Gwen stay on in showbiz after their wedding?

“Love niya ang showbiz, she wants to pursue it, so that’s it,” said Jeremy who has put his own showbiz career on hold when he ventured into politics (he ran for Parañaque City vice mayor in last May’s elections but lost).

Any “restrictions” on Gwen if and when?

“I have reservations but I trust her decisions,” said Jeremy. “Alam naman niya ‘yon.”
