Two beauty contests, one for females and the other for males, are holding their grand finals this weekend — tonight, the 2016 Mutya ng Pilipinas at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila (aired as a TV special tomorrow, July 31, on ABS-CBN); and, tomorrow night (July 31), the first Gentlemen of the Philippines (2016) search at the Trinity University of Asia Theater (E. Rodriguez, Quezon City). The Mutya pageant will be hosted by Richard Gutierrez (photo).

Thirty beauties are vying for the three Mutya titles — Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific, Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism International and Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities — and also 30 macho men for six Gentlemen of the Philippines titles: 2016 Mister International (in New Delhi, India); Mister Universal Ambassador (Surabaya/Bali, Indonesia); Mister Tourism International (Panama City, Panama, for the 2017 pageant); Mister Worldwide (Orlando, Florida); Mister Tourism World (Bali, Indonesia); and Mister Teen International (Bali, Indonesia).
