More sound bites from JaDine

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

JaDine lovers can’t seem to have enough of their idols, James Reid and Nadine Lustre. Understandable. It’s a common feeling in fandom: Keep a keen eye on your idols’ every move and hang on to every word that tumbles out of their mouths.

This corner’s JaDine feature two weeks ago, with quotations from the loveteam’s fastest-selling book Team Real (published and exclusively distributed by VRJ Books Publishing, Inc. and available in National Bookstores and Powerbooks), generated requests for more, more, more!

So here are more quotable quotes/sound bites from the same book (I remind you to get a copy before it runs out of stock…again!):

Nadine: If you ask me if I think I am beautiful, hindi. Normal lang ako. Ordinary. Pag sinasabi ng mga tao na I look perfect, I look like a doll, I don’t get it. To be honest, there are so many things that I want to change. Ayoko ‘yung shape ng face ko. Ang laki ng cheeks ko! Nagpa-flat ‘yung nose ko when I smile. Ang nipis ng upper lip ko. Pag walang eyebrow pencil? I have no eyebrows at all.

If you ask me about the things na ayaw ko sa body ko, I could tell you a lot. I’ve always been insecure about my boobs. My body is not proportional. My shoulders are wide and wala akong hips. Most of the time, I tell myself, “This is me. This is why people think I’m beautiful.”

But sometimes, kalaban ko ang sarili ko. I even tell James, “I want to change my face, do something about my nose.” I keep telling myself to just do it, na it’s for the best, for improvement. Pero ito ‘yung binigay sa akin, so why would I change it?

People think I’m beautiful just the way I am. Bashers don’t hurt me pag nilalait nila ako because I acknowledge all those imperfections. I mean, I don’t like them (imperfections), but I’ve accepted them, and that makes all the difference. Most days, I feel okay about my looks. Hindi ‘yung, “Ang ganda ko!” ah! It’s just that my energy is positive.

James:…I don’t really have a pogi routine. If you ask me if I put cucumbers on my eyes — no, I don’t. Besides the mandatory cleansing of the face, I don’t really do anything else. The only “routine” I have is: I wake up, I shower, I go to work, I get home really late, I go to sleep…

Nadine (asked about money matters): We used to be rich. My dad used to have a trucking business and I was a spoiled kid — toy shopping every day, birthday parties every year. And then the business went bankrupt. I had to start helping out. I was doing commercials, yes, pero it’s not guaranteed that you’ll get another project in a few weeks. It’s not guaranteed that you’ll get another project in a few months. Minsan wala. May times na gan‘un and the money that I earn, kailangan pagkasyahin hanggang may trabaho uli.

At that time, I was into magazines like Meg. Tapos I would see expensive stuff I couldn’t afford. ‘Yung kaya ko lang bilhin ‘yung nail polish na Elianto na P50 a bottle. I would wear it every day, just to feel like I could afford something that’s in the magazine. Sad, no?

James (asked who did he think should pay for dates): When we’re out on a date, I pay of course. That’s a given. But with Nadine, it’s hard. She would just go ahead and pay the bill without you knowing. Well, not always. I literally have to take the bill from her hands. But honestly, I’ve been in a relationship where the girl would always pay because I was poor. I was not just poor, I was broke. If you’re both in a good situation, if you both have money, and the guy wants to be sweet and be a gentleman, of course the guy should pay. But if you can’t, don’t worry about it. It’s no big deal.

Unless, another clamor for JaDine pa more, that should be all for now. Otherwise, I advise you to check the book which can offer you more, more, more!!!
