MANILA, Philippies - Jaclyn Jose admitted that accepting the project "Ma' Rosa" was for her daughter Andi Eigenmann.

"Andi told me, ‘Ma, tanggapin mo na para naman makapag-abroad ako, ma-experience ko naman ang mga na-experience mo.' So I said, ‘Okay, I will do this for you’" she recalled, during a press conference attended by Natalie Tomada of The Philippine Star on Tuesday.

She didn't want to accept the project at first since she had experienced the red carpet walk before.

"It’s such a fulfillment for me winning (the award) and (bringing) Andi to the international scene,” she added.

Jaclyn was also grateful to the jury members of the Cannes film festival, including Donald Sutherland, Arnaud Desplechin and Kirsten Dunst, who defended her from critics who were surprised with her win.

"When I saw it, I said, okay. I knew in my heart that I did one good scene, that I did something that would somehow touch their hearts, and it was the ending," she said.

Meanwhile, Mendoza revealed that he has plans of submitting "Ma' Rosa" for this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
