Mariel Rodriguez to give birth in US

MANILA, Philippines — After tragic miscarriages in the past, Mariel Rodriguez is happy to go through the first trimester of her pregnancy.

"Siyempre hinintay ko talaga na safe na," she explained about her delayed announcement of her pregnancy, in an interview aired in "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Tuesday. "Sinigurado ko na 'yong first trisemester malagpasan, so after that sinabi ko na talaga."

"Bakit hindi ko sasabihin, e, ang saya-saya ko!" she added.

The Kapamilya host is still taking extra precautions with her pregnancy, since she has gestational diabetes.

Before this pregnancy, she has expeerienced two miscarriages last year. First was in March, and the second was in August.

Mariel plans to give birth in US with her husband, Robin Padilla.

Despite her sensitive pregnancy, Mariel denied that she's taking an early leave from "It's Showtime."

"Basta kaya ko, I will do it," she said.
