John Lloyd on same day film screening with JaDine: Not an issue

MANILA, Philippines – Having more Filipino films on the same showing date means a growing film industry, this is how John Lloyd Cruz sees the same showing date of his film “Just the 3 of Us” and JaDine’s “This Time.”

John Lloyd and Jennylyn Mercado’s film was originally slated to be in cinemas last April 27, but due to some production concerns they had to move it on the next week which is May 4.

On the other hand, James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s film has been slated for May 4 since the first release of their teaser.

“Parang I don’t think that’s the issue,” the Kapamilya actor said in an interview on Sunday. “Puwedeng mas kumita ‘yong sa kanila, mas kumita ‘yong sa amin, it’s all the same.”

Proof is him also promoting “This Time” in “ASAP” on Sunday after promoting his film.

John Lloyd also noted that whatever the outcome of the two films may be, what will benefit is the whole film industry.

“Para sa akin isa lang naman sinasabi n’yan, e, we have a growing industry and we have to embrace it as one,” he said. “If you’re working in one industry pare-pareho lang ‘yan. Hindi naman tayo mag-celebrate kapag hindi kumita ang isang pelikula.”

“‘Wag dapat magbilangan, magsiraan. Kumbaga lahat naman ito tayo-tayo ang mag-benefit, e,” he added.

Another local film will be in cinemas that day, which is “Diyos-Diyosan” which stars John Prats, Princess Punzalan, Cheska Diaz and Kiko Estrada.
