MANILA, Philippines – John Prats still couldn’t contain his happiness after the birth of his first child with wife Isabel Oli.

They named their baby girl Lily Feather, wanting a unique name for their first-born.

“Sobrang gusto ko na umuwi everyday just to be with her,” John said about his daughter, in an interview on Thursday.

He also recalled the day when he witnessed his child’s birth.

“Hindi ko ma-explain ang happiness!” he exclaimed. “‘Paglabas ni Feather ang magical ng feeling, hindi mo alam umiiyak ka na.”

“Iba ang experience. Mamahalin mo lalo ‘yong asawa mo, ‘yong journey niya mula day one ng pagbubuntis niya hanggang manganak siya, ibang journey,” he added.

Even if he’s busy with his show “Ang Probinsiyano” which stars Coco Martin, John still takes the “night shift” of taking care of his daughter.

“Mas masaya,” he said describing his life as a father. “Kapag may anak ka na feeling mo ganap na lalaki ka na. So ibang-iba ‘yong pakiramdam, ‘yong responsibility, ‘yong work ethics ko, dati ang hirap ko gisingin, ngayon isang iyak niya lang gising ako.”

As for their plans of having another baby, the Kapamilya actor excitedly announced, “kapag ready na gawa na kami ulit. After a year or less."

“Kasi gusto namin sunud-sunod na, para tatlong sunud-sunod okay na kami,” he explained. “Ako kasi ang tagal ko na rin hinintay ‘to, I’m 32 and Liv is 34. So it’s about time na sunud-sunurin na namin, kasi we don’t have the privilege to wait.”

John bagged the lead role in the “politically-motivated” film “Diyos-Diyosan,” where he portrays an iron-fisted politician.

He stars with Princess Punzalan, Cheska Diaz, Tirso Cruz III and Kiko Estrada. It is directed by Cesar Buendia and will be in cinemas on May 4.
