Faces of Love at UP Carillon Plaza
MANILA, Philippines - The UP Alumni Association (UPAA) presents Faces of Love: Mga Mukha ng Pagmamahal, featuring the UP Arco String Orchestra on Feb. 12, 6 p.m. at the Carillon Plaza in UP Diliman, Quezon City. This is the second installment of the Carillon Concert Series, which showcases award-winning groups from UP free of charge for all music lovers.
The UP Arco (formerly UP String Chamber Orchestra) under the baton of Prof. Edna Marcil “Michi” Martinez will highlight the different kinds of love: Sacred love, romantic love, patriotic love and familial love through their repertoire. Faces of Love will be anchored by Prof. Patricia Brillantes-Silvestre, and closely follows the highly-successful maiden concert Krismazz Jazz at the Carillon held in December 2015, which featured the UP Jazz Ensemble conducted by Prof. Raymundo Maigue.
“We hope that the sounds of the UP Carillon and the Concert Series will serve as a call to the Filipino to reflect on our collective legacy of artistic and musical worth,” says UPAA president lawyer Ramon Maronilla.
