MANILA, Philippines - The 41st Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal is probably the one of most controversial and tension-filled awards nights in the annual event's history.

The film fest is marred with controversy this year after the entry "Honor Thy Father" was disqualified from the Best Picture category of the MMFF. Because of this, filmmakers used the awards night as a venue to air their support for the John Lloyd Cruz-starrer.
