Sharon Cuneta ‘a little offended’ by FAMAS snub
MANILA, Philippines – Sharon Cuneta admitted that she was “a little offended” when Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS) didn’t include her as recipient of Iconic Movie Queens of Philippine Cinema award.
FAMAS celebrated six decades of Philippine cinema on its 63rd year and gave out nine special awards, including the Iconic Movie Queens.
The recipients of the award are Gloria Romero, Susan Roces, Nora Aunor, Maricel Soriano, Dawn Zulueta and Sarah Geronimo.

“Kasi it was icons and queens. I think that was… I was a little offended with FAMAS,” she said in an interview with Boy Abunda in “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired on Friday.
“Sabi ko nga, so ano nangyaro noong ’80 at ‘90s? Buti pa si Ate Guy naalala niya,” she added, referring to Nora Aunor who mentioned her on her speech, saying that she hope to see other deserving actresses being given such recognition.
“Ate Guy said that and then I said, if one of the best actresses in the country and in the world says this about you and shows people and shows you how much she respects what you have contributed, you know what, wala nang hihigit pa na honor doon kasi si Ms. Nora Aunor siya,” she concluded. - Joyce Jimenez
