MMK on importance of family

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Kapamilya teen stars Paul Salas and Francis Magundayao, together with Sunshine Cruz, topbill this week’s episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) which highlights the importance of family amidst fulfilling one’s own dreams.

Life has always been hard on Aurora (Sunshine) and her sons Mark (Paul) and Michael (Francis). It even reaches a point where Aurora is forced to have Mark adopted by a barangay catechist to give him a better life.

Because of this, Mark grows reserved and aloof from his mother and brother until he leaves for Cebu to pursue his studies. While he is away, Mark learns that Aurora has left for Manila for no reason, convincing Mark that she has abandoned him and Michael. This triggers hate in Mark’s heart, which motivates him to fulfill his dream of being a seaman.

How long can Mark stay mad at his own mother? How will things change once he learns that Aurora has been suffering from breast cancer? Will his dreams of becoming a seaman outweigh the need for him to care for his ailing mother?

Joining the upcoming MMK episode are CX Navarro, Nhikzy Calma, Daria Ramirez, William Lorenzo, Carla Guevarra, Pepe Herrera, Mccoy de Leon, Raquel Montesa and Lui Manansala. The episode is directed by Frasco Mortiz and written by Mark Duane Angos. MMK is led by business unit head Malou Santos.

MMK airs Saturday nights at 8 after The Voice Kids 2 on ABS-CBN.
