Is another show folding up soon?

MANILA, Philippines - Oops! Not really that soon. Maybe in two months’ time? That is, unless some kinks are ironed out before, as The STAR source put it, “things get out of hand.”

But what’s closing very soon is the GMA show Sunday All Stars (SAS) which is having its farewell edition two Sundays from now, on Aug. 9. It will be replaced by Sunday PINASaya to be hosted by Ai-Ai delas Alas, the expectant mom Marian Rivera, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Alden Richards and Julie Anne San Jose, said to be a production of APT which is also the company behind Eat, Bulaga!

These past few years, the show has been undergoing title changes — from S.O.P. to Party Pilipinas to Sunday All Stars. It was originally pitted with ASAP of the rival Kapamilya Network, until it was moved from the noontime slot to 2:30 p.m.

The blocktimer guys behind “the other show” have until end of next month to renegotiate when its contract expires. Items to be threshed out include change of time slot, airing frequency and type of show (taped or live?).

The show is a crowd-drawer, and a crowd-pleaser, no doubt about it, and its followers are hoping and praying that it will go on and on and on.

Sorry, folks, but this “breaking news” will have to remain “blind” in the meantime.
