MANILA, Philippines- Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito-Estrada apologized to Kris Aquino on behalf of his daughter Jerika Ejercito.
On her Facebook account, Jerika posted her disapproval of Kris’s reaction after her brother, President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, was bashed after his absence at the arrival honors for the slain members of the Philippine National Police-Special Armed Forces.
Kris expressed her hurt through an Instagram post where she said "not one of them spoke to me harshly or blamed me in the way I had to endure from those who have the ability to post but not the will to do actual good, when in actuality from those most hurting I received sincere appreciation.”
Jericka seemed to mock the presidential sister's reaction when she posted on her Facebook account a link about Kris's reaction and captioned it with "Don't dish it out if you can't handle it. Sheesh...every night she bullies her guests on a&a and every morning does it all over again on her show cleverly named kristv her poor guests publicly humiliated...she feels entitled to be BRUTALLY HONEST day in, day out...but obviously cannot handle the truth herself."
On her Instagram account, Kris posted a photo of Mayor Estrada on Friday and revealed that Mayor Estrada has apologized in behalf of his daughter.
“He called me at 11:08 PM. Pag hello ko pa lang, nag sorry sya agad, "sorry Kris sa pinagsasabi ng anak ko, ngayon ko lang nalaman, nahihiya ako sa yo, sa pamilya nyo" dinagdag nya na naging mabuti at ma respeto kaming mga magkakapatid sa kanya. 5X nyang inulit yung salitang SORRY, sorry talaga,” she said.
To this she replied, “president mayor, wala ho kayo dapat ihingi ng tawad sa kin. Okay na okay po tayo... Napakalaking bagay po ng effort nyong tawagan ako. Hindi po kinailangan pero MARAMING SALAMAT PO.”
In the end, Kris thanked God for continually teaching her about "respect, about humility, about reaching out, and about personal effort."
Recently, Kris reached out to Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo after unfollowing her on Instagram, after she was hurt about the latter's post about the dismay in the president's absence during the arrival honors for the fallen Philippine National Police - Special Action Forces.
