IN PHOTOS: Miss Colombia crowned as new Miss Universe

MANILA, Philippines - Paulina Vega of Colombia emerged victorious in the 63rd Miss Universe pageant, held in Miami, Florida on Monday.

Vega bested Miss USA Nia Sanchez (who was named first runner-up) as well as 86 other contestants for the much-coveted crown.

Mary Jean Lastimosa had a good run in the pageant and was even declared by pundits and fans as a favorite to win the title, but she only made it in the top 10.
