Body Talk with Azkal Mark Hartmann

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

Azkal Mark Andrew Calibjo Hartmann is half-half — half-Filipino and half-English, just like fellow football players James and Phil Younghusband. He’s the youngest among three brothers who have also played with the Philippine team, Darren for the under-21 during the 2005 Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy and Matthew (an international footballer) for the under-23.

Research showed that as a youngstar Hartmann, who turned 23 on Jan. 20 (born in Southampton, England), did stints with Portsmouth and then at Swindon Town where he was eventually released at the end of the 2009-2010 season. He then joined Wessex Football League side Blackfield & Langley. Then, he moved to the Philippines where he joined Manila Nomads before moving to the Loyola Meralco Sparks in for 2010-2011 United Football League.

Later in 2011, he joined the national team training pool and was named in the final 20-man squad for the 2011 Long Teng Cup and the provisional Philippines under-23 squad for the 2011 Southeast Asian Games. In the Long Teng Cup, he made his full international debut in the 3-3 draw against Hong Kong. He made his first appearance for the under-23 national team in the 3-1 loss against Vietnam in the opening match of the 2011 SEA Games, and scored first and second International Goal during the 2014 Philippine Peace Cup over Chinese Taipei.

He’s the perfect model for Elements socks which are environmentally-friendly, made from all-natural fibers that do not require huge amounts of water to grow. They are free of chemicals and, unlike other fabrics, do not contribute to industrial waste. Elements by Goldtoe socks have many cool designs to choose from, available at SM Accessories, major department stores nationwide and online.

“The best socks on two feet,” said Hartmann.
