Venus Raj: I'm still single, and very happy

MANILA, Philippines - Former beauty queen Venus Raj is happy to remain single after her one-year relationship with Andrei Felix.

"Masayang masaya pa rin po, still single and in love with the Lord everyday," Venus said in an interview on Wednesday. "Still waiting for my God's blessing. Hindi naman kasi minamadali 'yan, e, it's a serious matter."

Venus said she doesn't really have a standard when it comes to choosing a partner in life.

What he is looking for a guy? "God-fearing, una talaga 'yon. Dapat mas love si Lord kaysa sa sarili at sa akin. If the person will love me, dapat he also respects me. 'Yong mamahalin niya ako irerespeto niya ako, 'yong pisikal kong pangangatawan, dapat the relationship will please the Lord."

Aside from pursuing an education in UP Diliman, Venus is busy with her blocktimer show in GMA News TV and hopefully a new show with TV5.

"I'll be hosting with Mr. Ogie Alcasid," she relates. "The title of the show is The Rising Stars Philippines, it's a singing contest and mas focused siya sa B,C,D margins ng society. So ito kahit medyo galing ka ng probinsya, iba kasi'yong mechanics sa pagsali sa singing competition."

She's also allotting time to her different advocacies like the one with the partnership of her endorsement Pizza Hut and the World Food Program.

"Every Christmas season, mayro'n tayong tie-up with World Food Program. Ito 'yong may binebenta tayong postcard worth 40 pesos, then lahat po ng proceeds natin may mapupunta sa mga kababayan natin sa Lanao del Sur sa Mindanao," she said about the campaign.

Venus hopes that people will support the feeding campaign as she believes that there's still hope in fighting hunger and poverty in the country.

"Naging part na rin kasi ng advocacy ko 'yong para sa mga bata, especially the fight againts hunger and poverty here in the Philippines," she said.

"Sabi nila mahirap na gawin 'yon dahil rumpant na talaga sa country natin, pero hindi naman imposible kahit sa mga small ways may maitutulong tayo sa mga kabataan."
