IN PHOTOS: Kim Chiu turns emotional over best actress win

MANILA, Philippines – Kim Chiu couldn't help but turn emotional when she won the Best Drama Actress award at the 28th PMPC Star Awards for Television on Sunday.

The 24-year-old actress won the award for her role in the ABS-CBN soap opera “Ikaw Lamang,” which ended its run last October.

The ABS-CBN artist admits it has long been her dream to be recognized for her acting.

“Gusto kong ma-recognize yung acting ko na hindi lang dahil sa fans ko na masipag na bumoto,” Kim said when she received her best actress award. “Sobrang nakaka-happy, sobrang ang sarap ng pakiramdam.”

She added, “Hindi po ninyo alam kung gaano ako kasaya ngayon. Hindi ko alam! Nagho-host lang ako dito.”

Kim served as the hosts of the Star Awards for TV this year with Iza Calzado, Piolo Pascual and Enchong Dee.

Kim's “Ikaw Lamang” co-stars Coco Martin, John Estrada and KC Concepcion also bagged awards last night.
