Kris and I were never officially together, says Herbert

MANILA, Philippines – Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista said he and TV host-actress Kris Aquino never became official as a couple.

 

In an interview with ABS-CBN's news magazine program “Tapatan ni Tunying” aired Thursday, Bautista revealed their romance was nipped in the bud during the “infant stage” of their relationship.

 

“Hindi eh, hindi kami umabot dun. Alam mo 'yung infant stage ng relationship, biglang, pak, naudlot,” Bautista said when asked to clarify if he became Kris' boyfriend.

 

He added: “Ang feeling ko was I'm very thankful that a person like Kris Aquino has acknowledged someone like Herbert Bautista.”

 

For now, Bautista said he wants to focus on his children. 

 

“Ito kasi yung stage ng mga anak ko na, age of discovery, di ba? 'Uy yosi, ano ba yan? Uy girlfriend, boyfriend, ano ba yan?' Na mapapabayaan nila yung responsibility nila. I don’t want that to happen to my kids," he explained.

 

Kris admitted dating Bautista last April, saying they “are a work in progress.” But the “Kris TV” host later said she and the Quezon City mayor are not a couple but “best of friends.”
