Jessy Mendiola makes light of 'pleyks of appreciation' mistake
MANILA, Philippines – Jessy Mendiola made fun of herself after receiving harsh criticism over her pronunciation mistakes during her UAAP Cheerdance Competition hosting stint last Sunday.
The ABS-CBN drew flak after pronouncing plaques of appreciation as “pleyks of appreciation,” as noted by some netizens.
A number of netizens also noted that the “Maria Mercedes” star said “without further adieu” instead of without further ado.
Tanggap ko results. Mas na-bother ako ky Ate Jessy gurl,"without further adieu", "pleyks(plaques)", "what is your performance is all about."

But Jessy showed that she's just shrugging off her bashers as she made a self-deprecating post on her Instagram account on Monday, September 15.
“Good morning. Mahal ko kayo kahit ayaw niyo sakin "pleyks" man,” she said.
Jessy also posted a photo of a quote that reads: “There's no need to be perfect to inspire others. Let people get inspired by how you deal with imperfections.”
The ABS-CBN actress, who starred in soap operas such as “Sabel,” “Budoy,” and “Paraiso,” also co-hosted the UAAP Cheerdance Competition in 2012.
