Anne Curtis shrugs off breakup rumors

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines – “I think it would just keep on happening because we're not a showbiz couple,” Anne Curtis said when asked to comment to persistent rumors that she and boyfriend Erwan Heussaff have already broken up.

The breakup rumor first surfaced May of this year, which the couple immediately denied.

Speaking to members of the press during a media gathering for her upcoming comedy film “The Gifted,” the ABS-CBN star said she believes the rumors persist because “they choose to keep it private.” They don't, for instance, post “mushy Instagram pictures” of each other.

“I don't think it (the rumors) will ever stop as long as we're private. So okay lang. Siya, natatawa na lang siya,” Anne said.

She added: “We have a lot of pictures na magkasama kami but we choose not to post it. Every now and then we will, but not all the time. He'd rather keep what is ours, ours.”

Is there any chance she and Erwan would soon follow the lead of fellow showbiz couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, who recently announced their engagement and plans to get married this year?

“Huwag muna! Huwag muna,” Anne said. “Siguro in mga three or four years, I'll be ready.”

“Ayoko mag-isip ng gann kasi paano kung hindi,” Anne asked when asked if she's confident her relationship with Erwan would reach that stage. “Masakit, so I'd rather not keep my hopes high.”

She added, “Sana. Yun na lang, sana.”

Anne talked to members of the press to promote “The Gifted,” which also stars Cristine Reyes and Sam Milby. The movie opens on September 3.
