GMA Network unveils Yagit new child actors

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - After a series of nationwide auditions, GMA 7 introduces the newest child wonders that will breathe life to the four lead characters in the remake of the hit drama series, Yagit.

Director Gina Alajar expressed her delight on finally finding the four kids who will star in Yagit following the tedious screenings. “Masaya ako at contented dahil noong nag-uumpisa pa lang ang auditions, sinabi ko na yung criteria ko, yung hinahanap ko. And I think nakita na namin ngayon. Walang itulak-kabigin sa kanila, lahat sila gusto mong yakapin,” she said.

Portraying the role of Elisa is Chlaui Malayao, a six-year-old sweet girl who can instantly catch the attention and win the affection of everyone with her angelic face.

Playing siblings and Elisa’s cousins Josie and Tomtom Macabuhay are witty 12-year-old kids Judie dela Cruz and Jemwell Ventinilla, respectively. Judie, who has a mature personality at her young age, certainly fits the role of being the ate of the group who is full of dreams.

Meanwhile, Jemwell, who will give life to Tomtom’s chubby character, stood out from the crowd during the auditions not just because of his humorous personality, but also because of his comedic timing.

Direk Gina also has nothing but nice words to say about JM Andres, the eight-year-old boy who is set to portray the role of Ding Reyes. “Noong pinapanood namin siya sa VTR nung auditions, we were able to create a sense of sympathy with his character.

Catch the remake of the ’80s phenomenal drama series, Yagit, in September on GMA Afternoon Prime.
