TFC showcases Galing ng Filipino

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - In the tradition of Philippine fiesta, parading the great Filipino performances, sights and sounds, The Filipino Channel (TFC) kicked off the TFC Fiesta Caravan and brought the annual One Kapamilya Go! (OKGo!) and Philippine Independence Day celebrations to Pinoys in the continent.

According to ABS-CBN Europe Ltd. managing director Edgardo Garcia, this year’s caravan of events brings a different flavor. “Every year, TFC partners with key organizations to bring world-class Filipino talent and the Philippines’ colorful culture closer to Pinoys all over Europe. What makes this year’s celebrations different is that it coincides with TFC’s 20th anniversary, which fittingly highlights the galing or greatness of the Filipino.”

Starting the parade of events was the first-ever OK Go! in Vienna staged by the Filipino network last June 1 in partnership with ABS-CBN’s Regional Network Group. Steering the event into a colorful mix of musical performances were teleserye stars Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban and dance icons Maja Salvador and Enchong Dee, plus Pooh. The event held at the Austria Center Vienna was filled to the brim by 3,000 Filipinos and featured a special screening of Starting Over Again, starring Piolo and Toni Gonzaga. Tulong Na, Tabang Na, Tayo Na shirts were also sold to continue supporting the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.

Week after on June 7 and 8, TFC, in partnership with Bayanihan United Kingdom supported the 116th Philippine Independence Day celebrations at the Morden Park by the London Road in Morden, Surrey with Enchong  spearheading the festivities and Jon Avila and Ima Castro lending their talents on the second day.

TFC shifted gears to bring the Filipino fiesta to Western Europe, starting in Rome via the Independence Day celebrations with Enchong. The Rome Independence Day Celebration held in Piazza Ankara, Rome was staged by TFC in partnership with the Philippine Independence Day Association last June 8. Enchong’s fans from their Europe chapter also got the chance to see the Kapamilya heartthrob at the meet and greet.
On June 28, TFC’s Fiesta Caravan makes a u turn to London for the Yorkshire Barrio Fiesta 2014 happening at the Racecourse, Boroughbridge Road Ripon, North Yorkshire with Jericho Rosales. The Yorkshire Barrio Fiesta is in partnership with Yorkshire Maharlika Filipino Club.

The parade of stars comes back to Western Europe on June 29 via the Philippine Independence and 12th Philippine Spain Friendship Day at the Colegio del Nuestra Señora de Consolacion, Plaza Madre Molas in Madrid. Jericho also returns to the caravan via the event in partnership with the Filipino Community in Madrid.

The TFC Fiesta Caravan stays over in Western Europe as TFC joins the celebrations in the South of France Summer Festival 2014 on July 5.
