Julia Barretto dismisses rumored romance with Sam Concepcion

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines – Julia Barretto was surprised to hear about the rumors linking her to “Mirabella” co-star Sam Concepcion.

This is following reports that Anne Curtis allegedly confronted Sam at the birthday party of Vice Ganda recently.

According to reports, the “Dyesebel” actress told Sam: “Ba't mo niloloko ang kapatid ko?” Because of this, a few people speculate that Julia may have been the reason why Anne confronted the “Mirabella” actor.

But the 17-year-old actress dismissed any possibility of having a romance with the 21-year-old singer-actor.

“No, not at all,” Julia told members of the press recently when asked if Sam is courting her.

She noted that she finds the issue funny because she sees Sam as a “big brother.” “It's showbiz pero nakakatawa talaga kasi kuya talaga ang tingin ko sa kanya,” Julia said.

“Sam, he's like my kuya talaga, because nakatrabaho ko siya when I was nine-years-old sa 'Walang Kapalit' (a 2007 soap opera that aired on ABS-CBN). So growing up, I've always seen him as my kuya,” she explained.

“Saka kilala n'yo naman ako, career ang focus ko right now,” Julia added.

In an interview with the press on Saturday, April 5, Jasmine herself said she does not know how Julia became involved in the issue.

“You know what, honestly, I'm sorry but it's really not my issue to speak on. I don't know where that came from, I don't know how her name popped up so whatever you guys want to believe, it's up to you guys,” Jasmine said.
