Jasmine on alleged Anne-Sam confrontation: 'Not my issue to clear up'

MANILA, Philippines - “I refuse to be involved because I was not there. I don't want to make the issue bigger.”

 

Thus said Jasmine Curtis-Smith when asked about the reported confrontation between sister Anne Curtis and rumored boyfriend Sam Concepcion.

It was previously reported that Anne confronted and humiliated Sam during the birthday party of Vice Ganda at a lounge bar earlier this week. The Kapamilya actress allegedly told the young actor, “Why are you here? Who invited you? You are not classy enough to be here!” She then allegedly told Sam:  â€œBa't mo niloloko ang kapatid ko?”

 

The “It's Showtime” co-host has since denied the report. The STAR entertainment editor Ricky Lo wrote in his April 3 column that, as per his source, Anne merely talked to Sam as to “why her sister is having a problem with him.”

 

In an interview with Jasmine after the live airing of her TV5 music program SPINNATION on Saturday, April 5, the Kapatid star said she's not in the position to talk about the issue.

 

“I believe that's not my issue to clear up. I'd rather speak of happy things,” said Jasmine, who is celebrating her 20th birthday on Sunday, April 6. “I don't think I should answer that because I was not there. It's not for me to clear up, that's not my problem.”

 

She further said, “Basta ako wala ako doon. I was busy shooting for 'Dementia' in Bulacan. I was in Batanes for 10 days before that. I was only here for two days for a cousin's birthday. And after that,  I went straight to Bulacan. I was gone without 3G, without anything.” 

 

“So whatever happened, that's only with the people who were there and between the both of them who really know what happened.”

 

Recent reports are linking Sam to Julia Barretto, his co-star in an ABS-CBN soap opera. But Jasmine dismissed Julia's involvement in the issue.

 

“You know what, honestly, I'm sorry but it's really not my issue to speak on. I don't know where that came from, I don't know how her name popped up so whatever you guys want to believe, it's up to you guys,” she said.

 

The host of the music program SPINNATION, which airs every Saturday night on TV5,  said she is yet to talk with Anne about her reported confrontation with Jasmine as she wants her sister to focus on recovering after she was stung by a box jellyfish this week.

Was her closeness with Sam affected because of the issue? “No, my relationships with anyone has not changed. With my sister, with my family, with Sam—all the same.”

 

She added, It all boils down to communication. If you know how to communicate, you're set.”

 

As she is celebrating her birthday, the TV5 talent simply wants to focus on being happy. “Life is so short, so why focus on the negative things when there are so many things to be thankful for.”
