Marian will support Dingdong if he enters politics

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines – Marian Rivera says she would give her boyfriend Dingdong Dantes her full support in whatever he decides to do in life—even if the Kapuso actor decides to enter politics.

“Kung sakali mang tatakbo si Dong, oo naman, susuportahan ko siya,” the Kapuso actress told members of the press during her launch as the April issue cover girl of Women's Health magazine on Thursday, April 3.

Of course, this does not mean Dingdong would indeed run for office. However, even years before the 2013 election, there have been reports that a number of camps were convincing the actor to dip his toe in the political waters. Talks about the Kapuso actor having political aspirations resurfaced this year when he recently received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

But even Dingdong himself said in a recent interview with the entertainment press that he has no plans of running in the 2016 elections.

Still, in case Dingdong does run for office in the future, Marian has no qualms.

“Una sa lahat, naniniwala ako na mabut siyang tao. At alam kong marami siyang matutulungan. Ganun ka-dedicated si Dong sa kapwa niya,”  the Kapuso actress explained. “So, if ever tumakbo man siya, alam kong magiging isa siyang magandang ehemplo.”

Marian was recently named ambassador for women and children with disabilities by the House of Representatives. Between this and her personal outreach programs (she reached launched the Kapuso-Adopt-A-Bangka project in Cebu to benefit the victims of typhoon Yolanda), is there a possibility that she'll enter politics? The answer, Marian said, is an outright no.

“Dati pa naman,e. Kahit tumutulong ako o hindi, may offer naman talaga (to run for office). Pero sabi ko nga, wala sa pagiisip ko ang tumakbo. Ang mahalaga sa akin, nakakatulong ako sa kapwa ko sa sarili kong pamamaraan. Maliit man yan o malaki, i-broadcast ko man yan o hindi, alam ko sa puso ko na nakakatulong ako, masaya ako doon,” she said.

Marian spoke to the press to promote this month's issue of Women's Health. This is the fourth time she appears on the magazine as its cover girl.

Looking as hot and healthy as ever (she recently appeared on the cover of FHM Philippines), Marian said she keeps her workout routine as flexible as possible in order to stay fit. The actress has tried wushu, arnis, and muay thai, and is currently into zumba.

“Dapat very open tayo sa mga bagay-bagay,” she said. “Hindi porke't nag-muay thai ka, forever kang muay thai. Pwede sigurong iba-iba, depende sa personality mo. Like ako, mahilig ako sumayaw, so nag-swak ako sa zumba. Nagwowork out ako and at the same time ineenjoy ko siya.”

She added, “Dapat alam mo kung ano yung dapat at di dapat kainin. At siguro dapat maging passionate ka sa sarili mo na mag-gym ka. Kahit sa bahay lang, bumili ka ng dumbell, mag-work out ka lang, magsayaw ka lang.”

The April issue of Women's Health is available in major newsstands nationwide.
