Jennylyn Mercado not ready for a new relationship

MANILA, Philippines - Jennylyn Mercado is not yet ready for a new relationship.

It was October last year when Jennylyn and her then boyfriend Luis Manzano called it quits.

So for this year, the Kapuso actress said to Lhar Santiago of "24 Oras": “Wala muna ‘yon sa priorities ko,” referring to her love life. “Unang-una muna trabaho and gusto kong mag-focus dito. Gusto ko siyempre pagandahin itong Rhodora X.”

“Rhodora X” is Jennylyn’s upcoming teleserye with GMA. Here, she will star with her “Starstruck” batchmates Yasmien Kurdi and Mark Herras.

Aside from being with two of her longtime showbiz friends, Jennylyn is also happy with the challenging character that she’ll portray in the show.

She will be playing the role of Rhodora, a girl with DIT, a split personality disorder.

“Meron siyang alter ego,” she said describing her character. “Si Rhodora mabait, tapos ang alter ego niya si Roxanne na minsan kapag di niya nagagawang lumaban, si Roxanne ang lumalaban para sa kanya.”

Her show premiers this January.
