Angel after breakup with Phil: ‘Patuloy ang buhay’

MANILA, Philippines – Angel Locsin said she is now moving on a month after she confirmed her split with football player Phil Younghusband.

“Patuloy ang buhay—kahit nasaktan, kahit gumagapang,” the Kapamilya star told members of the press during Folded & Hung and Meg Magazine’s Marvel Kawaii VIP grand launch at the Trinoma Activity Center on Wednesday, November 27.

She added, “Wala naman tayong choice, di ba, but to move on.”

“Siguro nga, yung iba mas mabigat pa yung pinagdadaanan kumpara sa pinagdadaanan natin kaya wala naman tayong choice kundi i-accept,” Angel further said.

The 28-year-old-year actress took to Twitter last October to confirm her one-year relationship with Phil has ended.

Talking to the press during the Folded & Hung and Meg Magazine event, Angel, in one of her first press interviews since the said split, explained she and Phil decided to release statements on their Twitter accounts for the fans who followed their love story.

To recall, Angel and Phil’s relationship began when the football player asked the Kapamilya actress out for a Valentine’s Day date in 2011.

“Siguro, utang na rin namin yun sa mga sumuporta sa amin sa Twitter di ba, kasi doon nga nagsimula ang lahat at nasubaybayan nila ang relasyon namin,” she said. “Natagalan lang kami kasi kahit sa amin, di pa nagsi-sink in. Tulala pa kami, nag-uusap pa naman kami. Pero naunahan kasi ng mga balita.”

Angel refused to divulge the reason for their breakup as respect to their relationship since “wala namang away na namagitan sa aming dalawa.”

'Kung saan masaya si Phil'

Angel’s breakup coincided with ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano’s split with Jennylyn Mercado. This spurred talks that the two could end up reconciling. But the actress doesn’t want to add traction to the said intrigue, adding she currently is not communicating with the Kapamilya actor-TV host.

“Nirerespeto ko si Luis. Mabait na tao si Luis. So ayoko ng dagdagan kung ano ang mga hinanakit niya ngayon sa buhay,” she said.

The Kapamilya star shrugs off reports that Phil is already seeing someone just a few weeks after their split. While not confirming any reports about the football player’s love life, Angel said: “Ako naman, kung saan magiging masaya si Phil.”

As for her, career and family are now her top priorities. “Kapag dumating, darating. Pero hindi ako naghahanap,” Angel said when asked if she’s ready to have a new special someone.

She added, “Hindi siya ang priority ko sa ngayon. Gusto ko lang magtrabaho, magconcentrate muna sa trabaho saka pamilya ko.”

Angel will star in the ABS-CBN drama “The Legal Wife, which she said will premiere January 2014.
